Raised in a church by an overbearing father, he grew up sheltered and obedient. After getting turned into a vampire against his will, he has to face an ongoing battle between his beliefs and his very being. Doru's story explores concepts of toxic masculinity, sexual identity, parental loss, and betrayal.
